Public Lecture: Geopolitical Tensions and Foreign Policy Formation

SAIIA and the Polish Embassy invite you to an open lecture by Dr. Beata Górka-Winter on geopolitics and shaping foreign policy, in which the main threats to the West’s actions will be discussed.

The world continues to grapple with a rapidly changing global political environment. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has upended Europe’s post-Cold War security order. The West has consolidated around NATO, while the US-China rivalry continues. China is flexing its muscles in its region and emerging as a second superpower.

Dr. Górka-Winter’s lecture will also cover the current political and security situation in Poland and on NATO’s eastern flank, as well as the possibilities of cooperation with African countries within the EU and NATO.

Dr. Górka-Winter is a qualified security and defense policy advisor with 19 years of experience in cooperation with civilian and military agencies from different countries (Central and Eastern European region, United States, Afghanistan and South Caucasus). She has published extensively on EU and NATO policy, peacebuilding, international military operations, conflict resolution, missile defense, defense technologies and security policies of different countries.
