Conductix-Wampfler this week said it has created a comprehensive solution designed exclusively for secure data transmission in mobile robots. The new Robin’6 minimizes integration and operational costs while strengthening cybersecurity measures, the company says.

“With the new fully managed Robin’6 communication device, we are setting standards for reliable communication in an ultra-compact, robust design,” said Thomas Förste, Product Manager for Wireless Data Communication at Conductix-Wampfler.

“To ensure optimal connectivity and integration with infrastructure, the Wi-Fi solution features LAN, CAN and GPIO interfaces located on the front, making installation and cabling easy,” he said. “At just 26.5 mm (1 inch) high, the device is extremely slim, making it suitable for vehicles with low overall heights.”

Conductix-Wampfler is a leading global manufacturer of mobile electrification and data communication systems for industrial machines, including robots. The company’s US offices are located in Omaha.

Wireless data transmission uses the latest Wi-Fi 6 standard

Rapidly deploying fleets of automated guided vehicles (AGVs) and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) requires easy setup and remote monitoring, says Conductix-Wampfler.

The company said Robin’6 includes energy-saving sleep modes and digital controls to efficiently regulate the power consumption of functional blocks on the AGV/AMR board.

“All these features make Robin’6 the ideal wireless data communication device for AGV/AMR manufacturers, system integrators and plant operators interested in long-term cost reductions for commissioning and operating fleets of industrial vehicles,” said Förste.

Robin’6 is ready to connect, says Conductix-Wampfler

Conductix-Wampfler announced that Robin’6 offers mobile robot manufacturers, integrators and users a ready-to-connect wireless data communication device for on-board communication.

The unit is part of the company’s broader portfolio, which includes a range of products for power transmission, energy storage and secure data communications for AGVs and AMRs. Examples include battery systems, battery charging systems and communication and safety systems, which it says are complementary.
