Kanye West ‘No Longer Taking Orders’ on Yeezy Website After Fashion Company Drops Prices on Items to $20

As of July 3, 2024, the rapper and entrepreneur is no longer accepting orders on his popular e-commerce site yeezy.com.

The announcement comes just days after Kanye West shut down his Yews New platform and months after he lowered the prices of all his products to just $20 each.

The yeezy.com homepage is now virtually empty, with only the date and time displayed to visitors.

It also includes Kanye West’s latest announcement that the popular e-commerce site is now down.

“YZY IS NO LONGER ACCEPTING ONLINE PURCHASES,” we read on the website.

The website also confirmed that “ALL EXISTING ORDERS WILL BE FILLED.”

According to the website, there are 7,371 orders remaining, although it is not entirely clear whether these are pending orders.

Kanye revealed the website during a 2024 Super Bowl commercial on Sunday, February 11.

“Hey, this is Ye and this is my ad,” the rapper told viewers in what appeared to be a selfie taken in one of his luxury vehicles.

“And since we spent all our money on advertising, we actually spent no money on advertising itself.”

“But the thing is, I want you to go to yeezy.com,” he added.

Everything that was available on the rapper’s website, including Yeezy Pods, which previously cost around $200, now cost $20.

In a now-deleted Instagram post, Kanye expressed his desire to see all Yeezy products sold at discounted prices.

“Gap didn’t raise the price to $20 like I wanted because they were still trying to protect the classism of the Balenciaga idea and the Gap idea,” he wrote under the post.

He even revealed that he will refund $180 to anyone who purchases Yeezy Pods for the original price of $200.

Sales on the website immediately skyrocketed, with thousands of people eager to purchase items from the Vultures rapper.

On February 12, Kanye revealed the sales results in a now-deleted Instagram post.

He added that within 24 hours of the ad airing, 294,357 orders were placed, translating into total sales of $19.3 million.

“The people have spoken Yeezy.com,” Ye wrote under the post.

The rapper has not yet commented on the reasons for the closure of the site or whether he intends to update its content with new items in the future.

The statement comes just days after the rapper’s news platform, Yews News, was shut down.

The news page featured a mix of original content and news articles from several media outlets, including The US Sun.

In early May, links to the news platform were removed from yeezy.com.

It is unclear whether the shutdown of Yews News and yeezy.com is related or the result of an attempt to “cancel” Kanye West by the broader public.

Kanye West has been “deleted” several times over the past few years, ranging from his anti-Semitic comments to his alleged styling of his wife Bianca Censori.

The rapper is also facing financial and legal troubles due to lawsuits from former employees of Yeezy and Donda Academy, as well as a private arbitration battle with Adidas.

Kanye West has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing, asking for the complaints to be dismissed and for his attorney fees to be covered.

Kanye, who called the accusations “baseless,” also claimed in his lawsuit that he “did not authorize, order or ratify any unlawful conduct,” The Los Angeles Times reported.

In court documents, Adidas claimed that Kanye’s “racist, anti-Semitic and other offensive public statements and conduct” caused “significant harm to his brand.”

Yeezy fans and shoppers will have to make do with vintage and previous limited editions until the rapper decides what’s next for the infamous brand.

The Latest Controversy Surrounding Kanye West

Kanye West has faced a lot of controversy in recent years.

In November 2022, a former Yeezy employee alleged in a lawsuit that Kanye showed them intimate photos of his ex-wife Kim Kardashian.

Employees also alleged that he played pornographic films for them and talked about pornography during meetings.

The star, who has been sued by numerous former employees, has denied all accusations.

In October 2023, Adidas dropped the rapper after various social media sites banned him from their platforms for making anti-Semitic comments online, in interviews and through clothing.

In the face of requests from fans and threats of mass boycotts, Adidas announced the decision to terminate the contract with the player.

Gap and Balenciaga followed suit.

Kanye has admitted in the past that he has a porn addiction, in an online post that was later deleted.
