Price-fixing claims against JBG and Highmark valid, judge rules

Real estate firm JBG Smith and apartment manager Highmark Residential have refused to dismiss a price-fixing case after a judge ruled there were facts to support allegations they worked with revenue management company RealPage Inc.

District of Columbia Superior Court Judge Todd Edelman revealed his reasoning in an opinion issued Tuesday after denying motions to dismiss the case in late May. He said the complaint from the District of Columbia itself credibly raised an inference that JBG colluded with its competitors to fix rent prices in the District.
