Nigeria – President Tinubu Appoints Uzoma Nwagba as Managing Director/CEO of CREDICORP

President Tinubu appoints Uzoma Nwagba as MD/CEO of CREDICORP and Otunba Aderemi Abdul as President and others. These appointments are aimed at expanding access to consumer credit in Nigeria, increasing financial inclusion across the country.

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Uzoma Nwagba as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation, CREDICORP. Other appointments made on Wednesday include Otunba Aderemi Abdul as Chairman of the Board (Independent Non-Executive Director), Ms. Aisha Abdullahi as Executive Director, Credit, Risk and Portfolio and Ms. Olanike Kolawole as Executive Director, Operations.

Additionally, the appointees include Dr. Armstrong Ume Takang (nominated by MOFI), Dr. Peter Iwegbu (nominated by NIMC), Mohammed Nasiru Abbas (nominated by FMITI), Mr. Marvin Nadah (nominated by FCCPC) and a representative of FMF, all serving as non-executive directors.

According to a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, the appointments are intended to leverage the extensive experience and expertise of the appointees to advance CREDICORP’s mission of increasing access to consumer credit for millions of Nigerians. The President expects the new board members to accelerate the expansion of access to consumer credit across Nigeria.
