Framatome and TechnicAtome join forces with acquisition of Daher Valves

Framatome and TechnicAtome recently completed the acquisition of Daher Valves, a company known for the design, production and qualification of valves for the nuclear and defense industries. Returning to its historic name Vanatome, the company now benefits from new momentum with the adoption of a new logo and strengthened management.

Vanatome is known for its high-performance products integrated in the primary and secondary circuits of nuclear power plants, as well as in the propulsion systems of the French Navy. This acquisition will enable Framatome and TechnicAtome to secure their supply chain and thus meet the challenges of industrial sovereignty in critical sectors.

Building capacity and sharing expertise

Bernard Fontana, CEO of Framatome, highlighted the importance of this acquisition in securing the supply chain and supporting the civil nuclear and defense sectors. He welcomed the Vanatome teams, recognizing their expertise and strategic role in the nuclear industry. In addition, the company recently received funding from the European Union to develop the European fuel for VVER-440 reactors, again with the aim of maintaining energy security in France and Europe.

Loïc Rocard, CEO of TechnicAtome, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration with Vanatome, a long-standing partner in the supply of essential components for nuclear propulsion. He sees the acquisition as an opportunity to strengthen their market position and develop new synergies.

Growth prospects for Vanatome

Didier Kayat, CEO of Daher, expressed his confidence in Vanatome’s growth potential within the Framatome and TechnicAtome groups. He believes that this integration will multiply the capabilities of the Vanatome teams, especially in the rapidly growing nuclear market.

Founded in 1978 and employing 120 people, Vanatome is headquartered in Saint-Vallier (Drôme). The company serves over 150 customers in some twenty countries, confirming its key role in the global nuclear industry.

Strategic Acquisitions and Synergies

This acquisition strengthens the market position of Framatome and TechnicAtome, enabling them to secure and optimize the supply chain of valves for nuclear and defense applications. The integration of Vanatome into their respective businesses is seen as a response to strategic and industrial sovereignty issues.

The combination of Framatome and TechnicAtome’s competences with those of Vanatome represents a significant step towards improving France’s industrial capabilities in the nuclear field. This strategic acquisition promises to strengthen the global market position of all three companies, while ensuring greater security of supply and increased technological innovation.
