Kazpost joins forces with YTO Express

Yesterday in Astana, at the meeting of the Kazakh-Chinese Business Council, an agreement on the establishment of a joint venture between JSC Kazpost and the Chinese company YTO Express Co. was signed.

The ceremonial event was held as part of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit, the main theme of which was: Strengthening multilateral dialogue – striving for lasting peace and development.

The joint venture will be involved in a wide range of activities, including international express delivery, freight transportation, customs clearance and warehousing. Plans include the establishment of technologically advanced multimodal warehouses that will make Kazakhstan a logistics hub between Central Asia and Europe.

The Kazakhstan-China project was made possible thanks to the support of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart K. Tokayev. During his visit to the People’s Republic of China in Beijing on October 17, 2023, a Memorandum of Understanding on Bilateral Cooperation was signed between JSC Kazpost and YTO Express Co. to strengthen trade and logistics ties between China, Central Asia and Europe.

“The creation of the joint venture is the result of hard work of the employees of both companies. Last year, we developed a clear plan of interaction, involving all necessary resources, including modern technological capabilities. The implementation of intelligent IT solutions will allow us to automate the processes of the logistics network and provide customs support for postal shipments. In addition, thanks to the use of unified integration, we can minimize the volume of manual work and significantly reduce the delivery time,” noted Asel Zhanassova, Chairman of the Board of JSC Kazpost.

It should be recalled that on the eve of signing the strategic partnership document in Almaty, a joint pilot project of JSC Kazpost and YTO Express Co. for the delivery of postal items, integrated with the IT services of the companies, was launched. This service is intended for direct delivery of e-commerce goods from the largest Chinese online stores to Kazakhstan.

The signing of the joint venture agreement opens up new prospects for the development of economic relations between Kazakhstan and China and stimulates integration with the world economy by increasing trade and logistics flows.
