Stock Market Sectors: Stock Market Update: Energy Stocks Fall, Market Rise

NEW DELHI: Energy stocks ended Thursday’s session on a positive note.

GE Power India Ltd. (up 12.26%), Inox Wind Ltd. (up 10.20%), Voltamp Transformers Ltd. (up 7.98%), Inox Wind Energy Ltd. (up 5.00%), Karma Energy Ltd. (up 5.00%), Jyoti Structures Ltd. (up 4.72%), GE T&D India Ltd. (up 3.26%), SJVN Ltd. (up 2.98%), NHPC Ltd. (up 2.11%) and Power and Instrumentation(Gujarat) Ltd. (up 2.00%) were among the top gainers.

Indowind Energy Ltd. (down 5.01%), Indo Tech Transformers Ltd. (down 3.43%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd. (down 3.26%), Hitachi Energy India Ltd. (down 1.50%), Kalpataru Projects International Ltd. (down 1.38%), Energy Development Company Ltd. (down 1.20%), JSW Energy Ltd. (down 1.11%), Reliance Power Ltd. (down 0.96%), Adani Energy Solutions Ltd. (down 0.91%) and Orient Green Power Company Ltd. (down 0.80%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended the day up 15.66 points at 24,302.15, while the 30-share BSE Sensex ended the day up 62.87 points at 80,049.67.

HCL Technologies Ltd. (up 2.8%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (up 2.62%), Tata Motors Ltd. (up 2.32%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (up 1.57%), Infosys Ltd. (up 1.43%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (up 1.41%), HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd. (up 1.31%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (up 1.28%), Coal India Ltd. (up 0.95%) and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (up 0.87%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack. On the other hand, HDFC Bank Ltd. (down 2.35%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (down 2.1%), Wipro Ltd. (down 1.54%), Adani Enterprises Ltd. (down 1.47%), Tech Mahindra Ltd. (down 1.4%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (down 1.18%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (down 1.14%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd. (down 0.98%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (down 0.95%) and IndusInd Bank Ltd. (down 0.87%) ended in the red.
