Rogerwilco announces new appointments

Rogerwilco, a digital CX experience agency, announced the appointment of three senior leadership positions within its team.

Creative industry veteran Dallas du Toit has joined Rogerwilco as Co-Chief Creative Officer, working alongside current Chief Creative Officer Wilton Ackeer.

du Toit joins Rogerwilco directly from Mark1, where he helped develop an anamorphic, programmatic Digital Out-of-home (DOOH) campaign for RE/MAX.

According to the agency, it was not only the first event of its kind in the industry, but also the first in the world where larger-than-life images appeared on billboard screens.

du Toit’s passion for digital media began in 2005 when he joined South Africa’s first digital agency, Gloo, from which he left 10 years later to become creative director.

Adolf Lategan was appointed to the position internally, rising from head of development to chief technology officer at the agency.

The appointment reflects the importance the agency places on its digital infrastructure, including AI, and is reinforced by the recent appointment of Dominic Anschutz, Microsoft EMEA data centre strategy director, as a non-executive director on the company’s UK board.

At the same time, we are investing in a broader range of development opportunities and data security.

Lategan began working in web development in 2011 and has spent the last six years at Rogerwilco, where he honed his skills. Unusually for a technical professional, he has an honors degree in marketing, which gives him a unique perspective on the role of technology in marketing, the agency says.

Jane Hollander has returned to Rogerwilco to replace Lategan as head of development, having served at the agency from 2019 to 2022.

With over 15 years of experience, her particular strength is PHP, primarily in the Drupal content management system. Her experience comes from building projects in other PHP frameworks and CMSs, such as Laravel, WordPress, and Magento, according to the agency.

Hollander’s previous experience includes work at Mirum, JWT and, most recently, Swiss media group Ringier.

Charlie Stewart, CEO of Rogerwilco, says the focus on creative management and strengthening its technology capabilities allows the agency to fine-tune the marriage of creativity and technology.

“We will continue to make further executive appointments. The rapid pace of digital transformation across the business landscape means our expertise is in high demand. Consumer desire for elegant online experiences is stronger than ever, and we continue to lead the way in this space,” Stewart added.

Stewart said the new hires were also evidence of optimism about South Africa’s future.

“As we expect the economy to continue to grow after the election, we are effectively future-proofing the agency to be prepared to increasingly serve the market with innovative and effective digital solutions,” Stewart concluded.
