Exorigo Upos: Gen Z shopping preferences are shaping a new e-commerce trend – buy anywhere, deliver anywhere, return anywhere

Exorigo Upos, a Polish company providing IT solutions for the retail sector, is focusing on the growing trend of “shop anywhere, deliver anywhere, return anywhere”, preferred by Generation Z due to its flexibility and convenience, strengthening the company’s position as the preferred partner for retailers and brands.

“The way consumers shop is changing. Younger generations have brought complete freedom to the shopping process, with no barriers between online and offline shopping. We see a clear trend for retailers to be present wherever their customers are, so social media is starting to play an increasingly important role. Retailers are starting to focus their strategies around the Shop Anywhere, Deliver Anywhere, Return Anywhere trend and are turning to omni-channel tactics and tools that can help them provide complete flexibility to their consumers,” he said. Marek Nowakowski, General Director of Exorigo-Upos Romania.

The changing shopping preferences of younger generations are a major factor shaping the e-commerce industry, given that Generation Z and Millennials, aged 16-34, used more than 80% of online shopping services to purchase goods or services, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

In addition, the younger generation spends a lot of time on social media, which is becoming as important as search engines when it comes to brand discovery, a trend that is unlikely to change anytime soon. Live and social commerce is already having a significant impact on purchasing decisions and attracting new customers. According to data, Gen Z is more likely to buy a product with a lot of likes and positive comments than one with fewer or no comments. To increase conversions in social commerce, retailers are adding a “Buy” button to their social media content.

At the same time, mobile phones dominate global visits to digital commerce websites and account for the largest share of online orders. According to the latest data from Statista, smartphones accounted for about 77 percent of traffic to retail websites worldwide in the first quarter of 2024, accounting for two-thirds of online shopping orders.

“Gen Z consumers have grown up in a digital-first world and have very distinct expectations when it comes to their shopping experiences. Retailers are looking for new ways to meet the needs of young consumers. Exorigo Upos solutions address these changing preferences by enabling shoppers to purchase items from anywhere, have them delivered to their preferred destination and return them via a convenient network of access points. Our flexible solutions help businesses stay ahead of trends, strengthening their connection with this tech-savvy, digitally native generation and can be a growth engine for online stores and beyond. By seamlessly integrating online and offline channels, we can enable retailers and brands to exceed the expectations of this consumer segment and increase brand loyalty,” added Marek Nowakowski.

To adapt to the new demands of the digital market, companies are investing in website optimization, providing effective customer service services, and using data analytics to better understand customer needs and preferences. Retailers are paying more and more attention to the shopping experience offered to consumers and are integrating AI-based technologies to present personalized offers and content as relevant as possible to each individual consumer.

Exorigo-Upos offers its clients complete IT solutions, which include the integration of advanced technological systems, the creation of software tailored to the needs of the client, and strategic consulting services in this field. In addition, the company provides assistance in implementing omnichannel solutions that facilitate centralized sales management through all available channels.
