FedEx Launches Cross-Border Book E-Commerce

FedEx, a leading global freight forwarding company, has introduced new resources aimed at enabling small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Philippines to succeed in the growing e-commerce market in China and Japan.

China and Japan are the largest markets in the Asia-Pacific region, with booming cross-border e-commerce, creating vast business opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises.

However, foreign entrepreneurs must understand the specifics of the digital landscape, consumer tastes and logistical needs of each market to build a sustainable business model.

“Finding new customers in international markets is a smart approach for SMEs looking to grow their customer base and revenue. Digital channels lower the barriers to entry, but the best business strategies are based on smart, local market insights. This is key in sectors like e-commerce that move at lightning speed,” said Kawal Preet, president, FedEx Asia Pacific.

“China and Japan are strategically important markets in the APAC region. We have built our local knowledge based on our decades of operations, which is a critical part of the e-commerce experience. We are also integrated with platforms and processes to ensure a seamless experience for both sellers and consumers. This gives us a unique vantage point on the latest local expertise to help e-merchants operate more efficiently,” Preet added.

Maribeth Espinosa, managing director of FedEx Philippines, said that with the growth of the global e-commerce market, there are huge opportunities for Filipino businesses looking to tap into the lucrative markets of China and Japan, which offer unprecedented opportunities due to their large customer base and high demand for a variety of products.

“At FedEx, we understand the complexities of entering these dynamic markets and have published cross-border e-commerce playbooks to provide local businesses with key insights and practical guidance. Our goal is to enable our customers to expand their reach, optimize their operations and achieve sustainable growth by leveraging our extensive market knowledge and integrated solutions. With an understanding of key shopping seasons, preferred payment methods and effective marketing strategies, we are uniquely positioned to help Filipino exporters succeed internationally,” she added.

FedEx offers comprehensive e-commerce solutions that make it easier and more efficient for merchants to fulfill orders while providing convenience and reliability for recipients.

The network covers 260,000 smart lockers across the Asia Pacific region, providing customers with convenience and a wide range of options.
