JKTPO organizes e-commerce implementation campaign in Rajouri

RAJOURI: In order to provide access to digital platform to prospective sellers from Rajouri district, Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organisation (JKTPO) of the J&K Department of Commerce and Industries organised an e-commerce introductory event at Dak Bungalow conference hall today.

The event was organised on the instructions of Vikramjit Singh, Secretary to the Commissioner of Industries and Commerce, under the chairmanship of Khalid Jahangir, Managing Director, JKTPO, in collaboration with the District Administration, Rajouri.

The initiative focused on bringing together local vendors, artisans, retailers, small traders, FPOs, NRLM SHG members and traders in the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) Network and Government e Marketplace (GeM). In collaboration with ONDC Seller Partner MyStore and GeM, the aim was to provide access to a broad digital marketplace.

The event was attended by over 130 local entrepreneurs, artisans, retailers, petty traders, FPOs and traders from Rajouri. JKTPO plans to organize similar events in all districts of Jammu and Kashmir, providing ODOP and DEH traders with an opportunity to register on e-commerce platforms. This initiative aims to enable them to showcase and sell their products globally.

The onboarding campaign was a significant step in JKTPO’s ongoing efforts to boost economic growth and digital trade in Jammu and Kashmir. The workshop raised awareness on the benefits of using e-commerce platforms like ONDC/GeM, enabling businesses to expand their reach beyond conventional boundaries.

Earlier, Banu Partap Singh, VP Sales at MyStore, along with Prafull, Manager at MyStore, conducted virtual training sessions for our sellers. During the session, Javed Seikh, Business Facilitator at GeM, highlighted the multiple benefits of joining e-commerce platforms and explained the entire onboarding process in detail.

Fareed Ahmed Kohli, CEO, District Industries Centre (DIC) Rajouri, chaired the event and addressed the audience. He emphasised the importance of e-commerce in enabling sellers to grow their businesses.

He also mentioned that the Government’s efforts are aimed at strengthening the local economy, urging vendors to actively utilize the available benefits. Officials from various departments of the district also participated in the workshop.
