State Capitol Sets Goal to Use Green Energy

Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said the provincial government continues to push for the development of renewable energy.

Lacson made the statement after handing over solar panels to some beneficiaries on Thursday as part of Renewable Energy Appreciation Week celebrations.

“We all know that solar panels have become cheaper, so more and more Negrense residents are installing solar panels on their homes,” Lacson said.

With proper use and maintenance, not only will you be able to utilize these power systems to meet your needs, but you will also be able to reduce your electricity bills, Lacson said in a message to recipients during the handover of the package at the main hall of the Provincial Capitol.

“I hope that with the savings you realize by using these R/E power systems, you will be able to allocate funds to more productive uses that directly benefit the people you serve,” the governor added.

This day is a symbol of our appreciation of your role in our joint work towards a reliable, renewable, accessible, affordable and sustainable energy system in Occidental Negros by 2030, or RRAAASE-ON (read as “race”) 2030,” the governor added. (TDE)
