Imperium and Baobab+ collaborate on financing renewable energy sources

Imperium, a digital financing platform for renewable energy solutions, has partnered with solar energy technology provider Baobab+ to improve the availability and affordability of renewable energy sources.

A statement made available to The PUNCH on Thursday said the partnership was formalised through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding in Lagos.

Speaking at the signing, Imperium’s Director of Renewables (Digital), Ayo Falola, said the partnership will enable homes and businesses to have access to affordable, stable energy, and accelerate the adoption of renewable energy, especially in underserved communities that need energy for productive use.

Falola assured: “The partnership with Baobab+ Nigeria allows us to take a significant step towards providing Nigerians with the tools they need to make the transition to sustainable energy.

“With the tailored financing solutions that this partnership will provide, it will be easier for individuals and businesses alike to benefit from solar energy, reducing their carbon footprint and contributing to overall energy security in Nigeria.”

Baobab+ Nigeria CEO Kola Osinowo expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration, saying, “We are excited to partner with Imperium, a game-changer in the renewable energy sector. This partnership not only expands access to clean energy, but also enables individuals and businesses to thrive in a sustainable way.”

“This partnership marks a significant milestone in Nigeria’s journey towards widespread and affordable renewable energy adoption. Baobab+ Nigeria and Imperium are jointly committed to making a positive impact on the environment and the lives of Nigerians.”

Nigeria has the lowest access to electricity in the world, with some 92 million people out of the country’s 200 million population lacking access to electricity, according to the Energy Progress Report 2022, published by Tracking SDG last October.
