Full Galaxy Z Fold 6 specs revealed ahead of launch

Samsung’s second major event of the year is scheduled for July 10 in Paris, where the Korean giant will unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. Foldable phone fans are probably dying to know if Samsung’s new devices are worth the upgrade. Thanks to a huge number of leaks, we know pretty much everything there is to know about both devices.

But the latest leak proves once again that Samsung can’t keep its Galaxy flagships a secret. Or maybe it just doesn’t want to. After a vendor accidentally released press renders showing the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 from all angles and in all colors, we now have a last-minute specs leak that reveals everything about the new phones.

The leak is the work of Evan Blass (via Edge), who shared screenshots of what appear to be the product pages Samsung will use for both devices.

The screenshots reveal everything you wanted to know about the handsets, except for the price. They also confirm that all the previous rumors about the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 were true.

Galaxy Z Fold 6

The next-generation Fold will look more like the boxy Galaxy S24 Ultra. It will have a slightly larger 6.3-inch external display and the familiar 7.6-inch foldable screen. The device will be thinner than its predecessor, as rumored. It will also be slightly shorter and wider than the Fold 5. What’s more interesting is the weight loss. At 239g, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is 14g lighter than the Fold 5.

The main foldable screen will be significantly brighter, with a brightness of 2,600 nits. It will also feature a new, slim Flex Hinge design, which is likely responsible for the drop in thickness and weight. The Fold 6 will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor that we’ve come to expect, paired with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. I would expect buyers to have other storage options available to them, though.

As for the front camera, we have a familiar setup. The main triple-lens module has a 50-megapixel wide-angle camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera. On the front, there’s a 10-megapixel selfie camera, and a 4-megapixel camera under the foldable screen.

The Fold 6 will also have an improved Armor Aluminum frame, IP48 water resistance, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the front and back.

In terms of battery life, you can expect the Fold 6 to be powered by the same 4,400mAh battery. However, the phone could last longer thanks to the new Snapdragon processor. The leaked documents suggest that the phone will last up to an hour longer while browsing the web over LTE and two hours longer while playing video.

Galaxy Z Flip 6

For some buyers, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 could be the more interesting new foldable phone from Samsung. Blass also revealed the phone’s product pages, which indicate it shares some specs with the Fold 6.

The flip phone will have the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and 12GB of RAM. The leaked spec sheet says the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will have 256GB of storage, but expect multiple storage options.

The build quality of the Flip 6 is on par with that of the Fold 6. You’ll get the same slim new Flex Hinge, improved Armor Aluminum frame, IP48 water and dust resistance, and Corning Gorilla Victus 2 coating to protect against the external elements.

When folded, the Flip 6 is also slightly thinner than its predecessor, but no lighter. The design remains largely the same as the Galaxy Z Flip 5.

But the Flip 6 gets a bigger spec bump than the Fold 6. For example, the Flip 6 will have a 50-megapixel wide-angle camera instead of the 12-megapixel lens on its predecessor. You’ll also find a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera on the back. A 10-megapixel selfie camera trumps the foldable screen.

The battery is another improvement over the Flip 5. It has a capacity of 4,000 mAh and will allow for two additional hours of LTE internet browsing and three additional hours of video playback.

Finally, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will feature a vapor chamber, which is a first for the Flip series.

The leaked Flip 6 pages also show us upcoming wearables that Samsung could launch alongside the foldable devices. One of Blass’ leaked photos shows Galaxy Buds earbuds that resemble AirPods and next-generation Galaxy Watch models. As you might expect, there are plenty of mentions of Galaxy AI on these pages.

The product pages don’t appear to be final, and there’s no pricing for either device. But we don’t have to wait too long to find out everything about Samsung’s foldable devices. You can see all of these images in Evan Blass’ Substack newsletter or on Edge.
