Switzerland and EU resume talks on financial market regulation

Switzerland and the European Commission have resumed discussions on financial market regulation that were suspended in 2017, seeking to conclude a broader agreement governing relations between them.

Delegations from the Swiss secretary of state for international finance and the commission’s financial services directorate, known as FISMA, resumed talks on issues including a framework for companies operating across borders, according to a joint statement issued after the meetings in Bern. EU recognition of Swiss trade equivalence was also discussed, they said.
