Srinagar, July 4: The Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organisation (JKTPO) in collaboration with the district administrations is organising e-commerce implementation campaigns in all the districts of the Union Territory with emphasis on One District, One Product (ODOP) and District Export Centres (DEH) initiatives.

The main objective of these activities is to increase the digital presence and market reach of local artisans, manufacturing units, weavers, farmers, entrepreneurs, self-help groups (SHGs) and small businesses. By facilitating their entry into leading e-commerce platforms, JKTPO aims to provide wider market opportunities and increased visibility to these stakeholders.

The recruitment drives are being organised by JKTPO on the instructions of Chief Secretary Atal Duloo and under the supervision of Secretary Commissioner, Department of Industries and Commerce, Vikramjit Singh. Their aim is to integrate local entrepreneurs with digital trading platforms to increase their presence in the global market.

The initiatives of ODOP and DEH have shown significant potential in promoting unique and high-quality products from each district, which has strengthened the local economies. The e-commerce launch campaigns are a key step towards achieving these goals, increasing the visibility, recognition and global exposure of the unique offerings of Jammu and Kashmir. These campaigns include training and workshops, platform registration, product listing, marketing and sales. JKTPO has planned these e-commerce launch campaigns for the entire month of July in each district of the Union Territory, while events have also been planned in both the divisions of Jammu and Kashmir.

Recently, JKTPO conducted successful e-commerce implementation campaigns at Circuit House, Pulwama and Government Dak Bungalow, Poonch.

Earlier, JKTPO organised e-commerce introduction campaigns in Anantnag and Jammu which benefited artisans, entrepreneurs and farmers.

In Pulwama, the event was attended by many leading e-commerce players and over 150 entrepreneurs, including women entrepreneurs, exporters, growers and government officials. The initiative included insightful sessions highlighting the benefits of e-commerce platforms and facilitated immediate onboarding of over 35 participants on platforms such as Government e-Marketplace (GeM).

Showkat Ahmad Rather, ADDC Pulwama, addressing the gathering, highlighted the crucial role of digital commerce in business growth and highlighted the government initiatives supporting local products from Pulwama.

Simultaneously, an event was organized by JKTPO in collaboration with the district administration in Poonch, which attracted over 150 local entrepreneurs, artisans and retailers. The initiative focused on onboarding participants on platforms like ONDC and GeM, with 50 retailers registering on-site across sectors. The on-boarding drive in Poonch was led by Additional District Development Commissioner Sandesh Kumar Sharma.
