Apple’s full iPad lineup for the coming year may have just been revealed

Analyses of the beta code have revealed the identities of unreleased iPad models, including those believed to have been abandoned in development.

On Tuesday, a leaker posted five identifiers that appear to be related to the iPhone 16 family of smartphones. Two days later, more identifiers surfaced from the same source, this time related to iPads.

The list, obtained by Nicolas Alvarez and posted by @Aaronp613 on X (formerly Twitter), is described as “guesses” at what they could be. The list includes some educated suggestions, but there is no guarantee that they are correct.

The list is split into two parts, with more than half of it covering hardware that will likely be released at some point. The rest focuses on gadgets that have supposedly been “thrown away” by Apple, at least for now.

Equipment of the future

The waiting list includes the iPad 15.7 and iPad 15.8, which are likely to be the 11th-generation iPad with Wi-Fi and Cellular. The model is expected to run on the A16 chip.

The iPad16.1 and iPad16.2 identifiers are believed to be the seventh-generation iPad mini with an A17 processor, featuring Wi-Fi and cellular capabilities.

The last four identifiers range from iPad17.1 to iPad17.4. The report suggests that they are for the iPad Pro M5 model.

The first pair is expected to be an 11-inch model with Wi-Fi and cellular connectivity, while the second is expected to be a 13-inch model.

Scrapped iPads

The second group of “scrap” device identifiers are iPad13,20 and iPad13,21, which are the basic Wi-Fi and Cellular variants of the iPad A14.

The iPad15.3 to iPad15.6 identifiers refer to versions of the iPad Pro with an M3 chip. Since the product line is currently based on the M4 chip, an M3 model is extremely unlikely to be released.

Outside of Apple, no one knows exactly which models are associated with which identifiers until they’re released. Aside from the discarded models, the 11th-generation iPad is expected to arrive within a few months, while the iPad Pro M5 update will take longer.
