Top 10 Tech Gadgets of June 2024 – Yanko Design

June was quite an interesting month as it brought with it a storm of mind-blowing and innovative tech projects! At Yanko Design, it was certainly an exciting time for us as we came across an influx of intriguing projects that left a lasting impression on our minds. Each project broke some barrier or convention in the tech world, bringing us unique solutions, improved functionality, and immense value. From the flood of tech projects that June 2024 brought us, we have picked some of the best. These projects not only solve tangible problems but also make our lives better, easier, and more efficient in their own way. We hope that these ingenious tech gadgets impress you as much as they impressed us!

1. Mini forum S100

Called the Minisforum S100, this small and elegant box may look like a power bank, but it’s actually a mini PC that you can take with you almost anywhere and even install in tight spaces. The PC has a small form factor but is equipped with a host of standard connectivity options, such as Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 6.2, 2.5Gbps Ethernet, USB-A, HDMI, and 65W USB-C ports. The HDMI and USB-C make the product quite portable and flexible.

Why is this noteworthy?

You can connect another monitor via HDMI to create a high-quality dual-screen setup that boosts productivity. The palm-sized mini PC is easy enough to pick up and take with you anywhere, so you can work in a coffee shop by simply connecting an external display and a power bank.

What we like

  • Supports Power-over-Ethernet (PoE), so you can use the S100 to operate your camera security system without having to plug it into a power outlet

What we don’t like

  • It does not have its own battery

2. Power Bank Nothing

Dubbed the Nothing Power Bank, this neat little gadget is the perfect device for your air travel adventures. The gadget has a clean aesthetic that shows off its interior in all its glory. The interior is lit with small warm LEDs that give the power bank a futuristic and cyberpunk look inside and out.

Why is this noteworthy?

This conceptual power bank design is a great fit for Nothing, as it is quite functional and has a simple, no-frills design. There are many options on the market, but this clean design would be a valuable and unique addition to Nothing’s ever-growing product line.

What we like

  • Power bank is a complement to the Nothing Phone (2)
  • It is characterized by an elegant, transparent aesthetic

What we don’t like

  • It’s a concept, so we’re not sure if it will work in practice as a final product.

3. Samsung Odyssey OLED G9

Odyssey OLED G9: Officially Introduced | Samsung

The new Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 is a 49-inch monitor with a resolution of 5120×1440 and an aspect ratio of 32:9. This is not an ordinary curved screen, but offers a truly wide field of view that perfectly adapts to the way your eyes work thanks to the 1800R curve. You can enjoy a more immersive and fascinating visual experience, whether you are playing a game or just watching movies.

Why is this noteworthy?

Using the Odyssey OLED G9 is like having two QHD or 2K monitors side by side, but without the distracting bezels that break the fluidity and harmony of the entire experience. There is also enough space for multiple app windows, which helps you get work done.

What we like

  • It has a Multi-View option that allows you to place two screens from two different sources and play content simultaneously

What we don’t like

  • There is no best sound
  • Quite a high price

4. JBL Live 3 Series

At CES 2024, JBL launched three different models – Live Buds 3, Live Beam 3, and Live Flex 3. These wireless earbuds form the Live 3 series and are designed to meet the needs and preferences of different users, offering them a seamless and personalized listening experience. They are stored in a sleek charging case with a touchscreen.

Why is this noteworthy?

The Live 3 series includes a 1.45-inch LED touchscreen display on the charging case. It was first integrated in the JBL Tour Pro 2 and now it’s back. This unique touchscreen allows users to handle calls, view text messages and control music playback. It even lets you check social media alerts on the charging case.

What we like

  • This is a great option for those who don’t like to use their phones too often.

What we don’t like

  • The touch control system is not very configurable

5. Amplifying speakers without batteries

Battery-free iSpeakers Amplifying Speakers

Called the Battery-Free Amplifying iSpeakers, these innovative speakers are portable and battery-free. The speakers are a new version of the typical smartphone speaker without power. They are made of metal, which makes the product quite functional, unlike conventional speaker designs.

Why is this noteworthy?

The amplifying speakers are made of duralumin, an aluminum alloy used in the aviation and space industry because it has vibration-resistant properties. Simply place your smartphone in the speaker and let the sound surround the room and you.

What we like

  • No electricity and no power supply required
  • Very intriguing to watch, with minimal charm

What we don’t like

  • It will not work well with large smartphone cases or covers.

6.TCL 50XE 5G

Meet the TCL 50 XE 5G, a smart smartphone that will help you keep up with and outpace your crazy, fast-paced life. Why is this noteworthy?

What we like

  • Biometric solutions such as face unlock and side fingerprint reader protect your valuable information

What we don’t like

  • No 4K video recording support
  • No chargeback support

7. ASUS ROG ALLY

The ASUS ROG ALLY may look similar to the OG ROG Ally, but it has a new all-black theme. ASUS has also opted for white for its initial version, although that helps it stand out from its rivals. The handles are rounder, providing a better grip, which is quite critical for a portable device. The rear triggers are also better angled, offering better ergonomics, while the joystick and D-pad are sturdier and more precise.

Why is this noteworthy?

It has the same AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor as the original ROG ALLY, but the mobile gaming processor is now paired with 24GB of DDR-7500 RAM. The storage capacity has been increased to 1TB, and the battery has been improved to 80Wh for longer gaming times.

What we like

  • Reinforced with improved thermal cooling solutions so you won’t burn your hands

What we don’t like

  • Does not have ASUS’s proprietary XG external graphics port

8. Moto tagging

Motorola recently announced an Android-based device tracker that, to be honest, looks pretty familiar. It’s called the Moto Tag, based on Apple’s AirTag, and is designed to be a compact little tracker that pairs and works great with Android, allowing you to accurately and efficiently track your valuables.

Why is this noteworthy?

Like the AirTag, the Moto Tag is a tiny round disk, barely larger than a quarter. The Moto Tag is equipped with a user-replaceable CR2032 battery that can last a year on a single charge. The Moto Tag integrates seamlessly with Google’s new Find My Device network, making it easy and seamless to pair with a wide range of Android smartphones.

  • Plays sound to help you search

What we don’t like

  • It does not have a built-in key holder

9. Pony Project

Meet the Pony Project – a portable CD player concept with built-in speaker inspired by Sony and Teenage Engineering. It is a concept design with Teenage Engineering’s design DNA and color scheme, with a digital display that shows the music currently playing.

Why is this noteworthy?

The Pony Project includes volume, bass and treble buttons, as well as power and stop buttons. The player is branded “Pony” and is an interesting Sony knockoff. The distinctive Teenage Engineering color scheme has also been incorporated into the design.

What we like

  • Offers a new and fun makeover for DAPs
  • Combines Sony and TE design language

What we don’t like

  • This is a conceptual design, so I’m not sure if it will work in a real product.

10. Marshall Celestion 100: A Limited Edition Collector’s Amplifier

Dubbed the Marshall Celestion 100 Limited Edition Collectible Amplifier, this limited edition design is the perfect blend of timeless design and the brand’s historic sound. Only 100 units were produced, and each amp comes with a unique numbered plaque. It has versatile power controls and can be switched between 20W and 5W settings to perfectly match your playing environment.

Why is this noteworthy?

You can play the tunes in different places to suit different moods – from house parties to intimate sessions to yourself. Handcrafted in the UK, they carry with them a legacy of legendary build quality and are crafted with incredible attention to detail.

What we like

  • Limited, special copies that are a must-have for collectors

What we don’t like

  • Top quality materials require special care, especially during transport and outdoor use.
