JBL Launches PH Soundgear Frames Audio Glasses

Soundgear Frames are “audio glasses” equipped with ultra-thin speakers based on JBL OpenSound technology

JBL enters the audio eyewear market with the launch of Soundgear Frames.

Meanwhile, on July 2, during a media event in Cebu, the audio equipment manufacturer unveiled the Live 3 series and the new PartyBox Stage portable speakers.

Soundgear Frames, priced at PHP 9,499, are audio glasses equipped with ultra-thin speakers powered by JBL’s OpenSound technology, so you can listen to music without taking off your glasses.

JBL advertises that the patented technology built into the glasses is designed to deliver “immersive sound” while maintaining awareness of your surroundings.

The glasses are designed to be easy to use. The speakers turn on when you open the temples and turn off when you close them.

Meanwhile, you can access various other features by tapping the JBL logo on the side of the device.

The glasses also feature a semi-transparent design that allows you to see some of the components inside.

The frame itself is made of thermoplastic materials, according to JBL, which makes it lightweight and flexible. It comes in two styles – round or square – and three colors – onyx, pearl and amber.

If you want to switch from sunglasses to prescription glasses, you can also swap out your ready-made lenses for prescription lenses.

Other key features include up to eight hours of playback, customizable settings and water resistance.

Smart Charging Case, PartyBox Speakers

JBL is also expanding its Smart Charging Case offering to include the Live TWS 3 series, debuting on the Tour Pro 2.

All three models in the new series – the Beam 3 in-ear headphones with a closed stick design, the JBL Live Flex 3 in-ear headphones with an open stick design, and the JBL Live Buds 3 in-ear headphones – come with a charging case equipped with a 1.45-inch LED touch display.

What is the display for? It’s used to adjust headphone settings, from volume and equalizer to controlling music, answering phone calls, receiving messages, and customizing the screen saver.

The earphones themselves feature adaptive noise cancellation, which allows them to block out noise while maintaining call sound quality thanks to six built-in microphones.

Total playtime for Live Beam 3 is 48 hours, Live Flex 3 is 50 hours, and Live Buds 3 is 40 hours.

On the loudspeaker side, there are new additions to JBL’s popular PartBox series.

The PartyBox Stage 320, priced at P34,999, has a telescopic handle and sturdy wheels, while the PartyBox Club 120, priced at P21,999, has an ergonomic handle and can operate continuously for 18 and 12 hours respectively.

Both models feature JBL Pro Sound and AI Sound Boost technologies, which JBL says improve sound quality.

Both can also be connected to other speakers using Auracast technology. You can also connect the PartyLights Stick and Beam to create your own light show that syncs with the music you’re playing.

Finally, the JBL PartyBox On-The-Go Essential, priced at P21,999, offers 100-watts of JBL Pro Sound, built-in lights, and a wireless microphone. It also includes other handy features for on-the-go use, such as a bottle opener, a padded shoulder strap, and IPX4 splash protection.

“We want people to experience music the way they want to, not the other way around. That’s why we’re introducing a new range of essential audio devices to meet our customers’ evolving and sophisticated tastes at prices they can afford – without compromising quality,” said Larry Secreto, national director of Harman International, owner of JBL. – Rappler.com
