In 2018, when Donald Trump was President, the department adopted regulations aimed at making it easier for employers to obtain coverage under multiemployer AHP plans.

These laws were intended to help employers circumvent state requirements for group health insurance by joining multi-employer group health plans (AHPs).

In May, the department struck down multi-employer AHP rules, saying they did not provide adequate safeguards for solvency and quality of care.

Walberg is now working to reverse this trend.

He presented his draft resolution on Tuesday.

The measure has 14 co-sponsors. All of the co-sponsors are Republicans.

One of the co-sponsors is Rep. Virginia Foxx, R.C., chairwoman of the House Committee on Education and the Workforce. House Education and the Workforce has jurisdiction over the bill.
