Prime Day 2024 – Is This the Best Time to Buy Apple Devices for the Start of the Back-to-School Year?

If you’re a college student preparing for the next school year or even just starting college, you’re probably wondering how to get new devices for work. Maybe your old laptop is outdated, slow, or becoming increasingly difficult to use. Maybe you’re the parent of a college student who’s pursuing a degree that requires specialized software and will need a Mac to succeed. No matter what you’re looking for, you’ll quickly discover that Apple devices are expensive.

So you’ll probably be looking at Prime Day in hopes of saving money before school starts, with your fingers crossed that you’ll be able to get the devices you need without spending a ton of money. But how good is Prime Day if you’re looking to grab some cheaper back-to-school tech?

Is Prime Day a good time to get deals on Apple products?

In short, yes. Prime Day is set to be the best way to save money in the middle of the year on all the different devices you could possibly be looking for, with some huge price cuts on almost all of Amazon’s product pages. That means you could get a discounted MacBook or a pair of AirPods on sale to help you get through those long study sessions.

But don’t forget that when one retailer lowers its prices, others often follow suit to get a piece of the profit — because when prices drop, people spend more money. We’ve often seen sales drop at stores like Walmart and Best Buy to offset Prime Day discounts, where you can sometimes find prices that are even lower than Amazon. As with any time of year, it’s worth shopping around to make sure you’re getting the best possible price.

It’s also worth remembering that there are other deals happening throughout the year that often offer even better prices than you’ll find on Prime Day. For example, Black Friday often has the best prices of the year, so if Really If you’re looking to save some money, it’s worth waiting until November. But if you absolutely have to buy something before school starts, Prime Day is still a great time to grab that iPad, MacBook, iPhone, or pair of AirPods you’ve been lusting after since high school ended.
