New UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer makes 10 appointments

Newly elected British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has appointed 10 members of his cabinet, the BBC reports.

Starmer is the first Labour prime minister since Gordon Brown in 2010.

During a meeting with King Charles III on Friday, he was asked to form a government.

Here is the list of 10 new cabinet members:

Rachel Reeves – Chancellor
David Lammy – Minister of Foreign Affairs
Yvette Cooper – Home Secretary
John Healey – Secretary of Defense
Pat McFadden – Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster
Ed Miliband – Energy Secretary
Bridget Phillipson – Education Secretary
Wes Streeting – Health Secretary
Shabana Mahmood – Secretary of Justice
