Chowchilla Farm implements innovative irrigation solutions

**Due to drought With water allocation cuts in 2014, DeJager Farms began considering drip irrigation via underground systems and using water from manure from its dairy to try to help its operation survive.

Since then, the Chowchilla-based producer of milk, beef, row crops and specialty crops has installed seven irrigation systems that clean and filter water from dairy manure to support crops such as corn silage.

Such activities are increasingly supported by subsidies for climate-friendly agriculture.

**Pew Research Center poll shows declining support for renewable energy in America.

While solar and wind power remain popular, support for their expansion has declined.

Wind power has increased from 83% in 2020 to 72% today.

The survey also shows a reluctance to accept the phase-out of gas-powered vehicles. Three in 10 Americans would consider buying an electric vehicle.
