Hybrid Landtech Redefines Real Estate Acquisition with Direct Certificate of Occupancy

To address the challenges of obtaining title to real estate in Nigeria, Hybrid Landtech has launched an initiative that provides residential property buyers with a direct Certificate of Title (C-of-O) issued by the Lagos State Government.

Hybrid Landtech, developer of Havens Cottage, said in a statement that the C of O direct link initiative is the first of its kind in the Epe axis area, traditionally known for agriculture and fishing.

“It is expected that the government will continue to have a strong influence in Epe and the rest of Lagos. In comparison, the state government acquired several hundred hectares of land in areas of Epe such as Ketu, Sala, Aleke, Igbodu, Molajoye and others in the late 1900s for food production,” said Oyeyemi Olodun, engineer and CEO of Hybrid Landtech.

“A large portion of this land is currently up for public sale for residential and commercial development, which is expected given the state’s housing deficit of more than three million units,” he explained.

“However, at Hybrid Landtech, we believe that land should not be converted to residential or commercial use without proper approval from the government. This is also the position of the Real Estate Development Association of Nigeria (REDAN), with which Hybrid is affiliated,” Olodun noted.

According to him, the direct offer of C-of-O Havens Cottage aims to streamline the process and provide buyers with greater security for their investment, adding that it is a significant step forward for the real estate market in Epe.

He noted that the organization’s consultants conducted a thorough analysis to ensure the safety of residential property in the zone, which enabled the enterprise to obtain a certificate of ownership of residential property in its name.

“This makes Hybrid Landtech the first developer to achieve this feat. By providing a direct C-of-O for every plot, we offer buyers the peace of mind and legal protection they deserve,” he added.

Epe, located on the northern shore of the Lekki Lagoon, has seen significant development in recent years due to its proximity to Lagos and ongoing infrastructure development.

The location of Havens Cottage in the Noforija area of the city is in line with this trend, providing easy access to the Lekki-Epe Expressway, top educational institutions such as the Lagos State University of Education, St. Augustine University, as well as other upcoming developments.

Experts say providing direct C-of-O can further boost the growth of the real estate market in Lagos State. Streamlining the land ownership process, as was done with the launch of the electronic Geographic Information System (e-GIS) portal, can attract more investors looking for safe investment opportunities in a promising market.
