“We are deeply grateful for the Fijian Government’s continued support for the outsourcing sector. This significant allocation of $1.2 million will enable us to spearhead initiatives that will not only create more employment opportunities but will also enable Outsource Fiji to work broadly with our stakeholders to upskill Fiji’s workforce and those aspiring to join the industry.”

Hunter says one of the main goals of the new budget is to address the problem of labour migration by raising awareness of the outsourcing industry.

He added that the increased funding will also support Outsource Fiji’s efforts to increase risk diversification opportunities in the country.

Hunter says the funding will help further promote Fiji’s competitive outsourcing advantage by attracting global brands and investors into much-needed areas such as infrastructure, training and education, which will translate into more job opportunities for Fijians.
