Washington Heights Stabbing: Police Release Photos of Alleged Attackers

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, Manhattan (PIX11) – Police have released photos of two men they say fatally stabbed a 20-year-old man in Washington Heights.

Both men are accused of attacking 20-year-old Mateo Solis on July 2 just before 3 a.m. near Saint Nicholas Avenue and West 185th Street, according to the New York Police Department.


Solis was stabbed in the back, police said. He was taken to a hospital in stable condition but was later pronounced dead, police said.

The young man, identified by his family as Mateo Solisa Tlalpachitoc, was celebrating his wife’s birthday when two suspected gunmen approached their table, a family member told the New York Daily News.

According to the New York Daily News, he is the father of two young children and a chef at his family’s food truck.
