California Dairy Innovation Center releases Q3 and Q4 schedule

It includes short training courses in dairy and conferences focusing on innovation

TRACY, Calif. — The California Dairy Innovation Center (CDIC) has released the schedule of summer and fall courses in its 2024 training series for processors, producers, entrepreneurs and students. The courses, which have no prerequisites, will be held at various locations across California and are open to all participants.

The class schedule includes:

Advanced Cheesemakingwhich will be held July 16-17, 2024 in partnership with Cal Poly, SLO at the Dairy Products Technology Center in San Luis Obispo, California. This program offers a comprehensive education in the fundamentals of milk and cheese-making processes, with two days of hands-on experience. The course also includes an enriching combination of theory and practical applications designed to enhance skills and knowledge in the art and science of advanced cheesemaking. 2and Annual Innovation Conference and State of the Industryto be held on September 12, 2024 in partnership with Pacific Coast Coalition at Fresno State University in Fresno, California. The conference will feature presentations on technical and market information. More information is available here.

Spanish and Mediterranean cheesesto be held October 8-9, 2024 in partnership with Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo at the Dairy Products Technology Center. Registration and more information is available here.

CDIC also provided dates for events in Q4 and 2025, including:

Tharp and Young on ice creamWhich will be held December 4-6, 2024 in partnership with Chapman University at Chapman University in Orange, California. Registration and more information is available here.

The Science of RTD Milk and Coffee DrinksWhich will be held January 22-23, 2025 in partnership with Chapman University at the Ranney Processing Lab at Chapman University. Registration and more information is available here.

CDIC also provided dates for 2025 Conference on innovation in dairy products, processes and packaging, to be held February 18-20, 2025 in partnership with Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, Dairy Management Inc., USDA, Pacific Coast Coalition and California Dairy Research Foundation at the Cliffs Resort in Shell Beach, California. This conference will focus on innovations in the dairy market, recent improvements in dairy processing and packaging, and improved marketing. Attendees will hear from today’s leaders and entrepreneurs who will share their knowledge and experience in today’s dairy industry. Registration and additional information is available here.

The Short Course and Conference programs are co-presented with the CDIC California Milk Advisory Board, with partial funding and contributions from Dairy Management Inc., the USDA Pacific Coast Coalition Dairy Business Innovation Initiative (led by Fresno State), and CMAB.
