Samsung’s hidden battery boost button that extends your phone’s battery life

SAVING BATTERY is one of the most important things people care about when it comes to their smartphones.

It’s no wonder that users are constantly looking for secret settings that will increase their power.

Most people are already familiar with the basics, like low-power mode and backlight reduction.

But there’s one more little-known setting that might prove useful — depending on what kind of smartphone user you are and what kind of charging cable you use.

This clever solution is known as bypass charging.

This can also extend your battery life and therefore slow down the wear and tear of your smartphone, so you won’t have to spend money on an upgrade as quickly.

The feature is available on some Android phones, but here’s how it works on Samsung devices — the company calls it Pause USB Power Delivery.

The bypass charging feature allows you to connect your smartphone to a power cable and use power directly from it instead of the battery.

Essentially, the battery remains idle, which is ideal when you have your phone connected to a charger for an extended period of time and are just tapping away at it.

Additionally, charging does not generate as much heat as standard charging, which translates into less wear and tear on the battery and other components.

As soon as you unplug the earpiece, it will start using the battery again.

You can think of this as a break for your battery during which you can still use your phone.

There are some caveats, however.

Firstly, this feature only works for gaming, as playing on a smartphone puts a lot of strain on the battery, produces more heat, and there is a greater chance that the phone will be constantly connected to the charger.

Will only work with a Power Delivery charger of 25W or greater.

And you’ll need a battery with at least 20 percent charge.

This feature is only available on certain devices.

How to Pause USB Power on Samsung

To enable Pause USB Power Delivery, you need to go to the Gaming Hub application.

Click the More button in the lower right corner.

From the available options, select Game Booster.

Enable Suspend USB Power.

If the option is grayed out, you are using the wrong cable type.
