Offshore Wind Growth Partnership appoints new director to its board

Offshore Wind Growth Partnership (OWGP) has appointed Iain Sinclair to its board as a non-executive director.

Iain has over 20 years’ experience in the renewable energy supply chain, most recently as Executive Director of Global Energy Group, a major port operator and energy services company.

He replaces outgoing board member Richard Turner, whose term ends on July 29.

“I am delighted to join the board of the Offshore Wind Growth Partnership and look forward to being involved at such a significant time for the development of the UK renewable energy sector,” said Iain.

“Since joining Global Energy Group, we have seen the Scottish Port of Nigg become a household name in offshore wind, securing major investments and supporting world-leading offshore wind projects including Seagreen and Moray West.

“I want to use this experience to lead OWGP’s strategy, support growth across the UK and help businesses across the country share in this growth with innovative products and services.”

Anil Sayhan, OWGP Programme Director, said: “We are grateful to Richard Turner for his support and guidance which has helped OWGP establish itself as a key player in the development of the offshore wind supply chain.

“We are delighted to welcome Iain Sinclair, whose extensive experience in manufacturing, ports and other key areas will be highly valued as OWGP takes the next steps to help UK businesses grow.”

Tim Pick, OWGP Chairman, added: “It’s great to have Iain on the OWGP Board. Iain joins us at a key time for OWGP as we look to align our programmes more closely with the recently published Industrial Growth Plan and implement new initiatives such as our upcoming Manufacturing Facility Support Programme.”

OWGP is a long-term business transformation programme that was created as part of the UK Offshore Wind Sector Agreement.

The company’s mission is to support a competitive offshore wind supply chain in the UK.
