Taiwan’s largest power cable manufacturer enters offshore wind market

TAIPEI — Taiwan’s largest stainless steel producer is building the island’s first factory for submarine power cables for offshore wind farms, aiming to tap the potential of renewable energy sources.

Walsin Lihwa, a leading Taiwanese manufacturer of terrestrial power cables, is partnering with NKT Group, a leading Danish supplier of power cables, in a joint venture called Walsin Energy Cable System.
