The photovoltaic installation, which is part of the Green Energy Lighthouse project, will have a capacity of 20.02 MW and will supply the port community in a self-consumption format. The project is to be located on the mountainside bordering the outer port, covering a total area of 153,300 square meters.

The plant will consist of 36,400 modules installed in different sections on the slope and its summit. The slope phase will cover an area of 83,209 square meters, generating 13.31 MW, while the upstream zone will cover 70,077 square meters with a capacity of 6.7 MW.

Construction of the plant is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2025, with PWR Capital Energy leading the project. The Green Energy Lighthouse initiative will require an investment of over €50 million.

This ambitious project underlines the commitment of the Ferrol-San Cibrao Port Authority to promoting sustainable energy solutions and sets a significant precedent for the implementation of renewable energy sources in port operations.
