Waaree Renewable Technologies Limited, a subsidiary of Waaree Energies Limited, India’s largest manufacturer of photovoltaic modules, has won the tender for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for a 412.5 MWp/335 MW photovoltaic project being developed by ACCIONA Energy’s subsidiary, Juna Renewable Energy Private Limited, in Rajasthan.

The project, located at Kawani Village, Bikaner district, is a utility-scale solar power plant that will utilize bifacial solar modules supplied by Waaree Energies Limited. These modules will be installed on horizontal single-axis trackers and are expected to maximize energy efficiency through enhanced light absorption and tracking capabilities. As an EPC contractor, Waaree Renewable Technologies Limited will provide end-to-end services including design engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of the project. The scope includes installation of 33/220 kV power station substations, power transformers and a combination of automatic and semi-automatic module cleaning robots and spare parts.

This would be one of the largest projects in which Waaree Energies and Waaree RTL would join forces as a key supplier and EPC contractor.

“We are delighted to have been awarded the EPC contract for the project of Acciona’s subsidiary Juna Renewable,” said Viren Doshi, Executive Director, Waaree Renewable Technologies Limited “We believe this project illustrates our capabilities in delivering large-scale solar projects, from module supply to turnkey EPC solutions. With our engineering capabilities and experience, we believe we are well-positioned to efficiently deliver this project, ensuring seamless integration of radical technologies and sustainable practices.”

WRTL is a publicly listed company on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and has had a great run over the past year with strong growth and order wins. Waaree Energies itself has already filed DRHP for an IPO, which is sure to be one of the largest renewable IPOs given its size and improving financials with each passing quarter.
