Supply chain company Bleckmann eyes Spain with acquisition of B2Tex

Bleckmann has acquired a majority stake in the B2Tex Group, which operates through its subsidiaries Thinktextil and Handtex.

The company has eight logistics centres and a number of customer sites, mainly in Spain, with Bleckmann CEO Kurt Pierloot emphasising that the company hopes to expand its operations into Southern Europe and introduce itself to important fashion and lifestyle brands in the region.

He said: “The B2Tex Group is expected to achieve revenues of around €62 million in 2023. This acquisition represents a significant step in Bleckmann’s strategic expansion in southern Europe, expanding its service offering and customer base.”

He added: “Through discussions with the two main shareholders and the B2Tex management, we realised that our companies could significantly strengthen each other.

“We look forward to working with shareholders and the entire B2Tex team to further develop our joint opportunities.”

B2Tex CEO David Sanz stated: “We are delighted to be working with Bleckmann. Becoming part of a like-minded organisation will allow us to further scale our business and access Bleckmann’s expertise. Together with our team, we look forward to continuing to grow our operations and offer a wider range of opportunities to our great customer base in Spain and abroad.”

Pierloot also wanted to share that the collaboration with the two main shareholders of B2Tex, Alvaro Bordils and David Lasheras, played a key role in establishing the partnership: “Their support and vision perfectly align with our goals. We are convinced of the benefits that this acquisition will bring.”

Last October, British footwear brand FitFlop decided to expand its presence in Europe by collaborating with Bleckmann.

FitFlop Global Logistics Director Sal Billington commented at the time: “Bleckmann’s warehouses operate seven days a week until midnight, so we can now offer UK customers next day delivery for orders placed on our website before 9pm. This promises to be a huge competitive advantage.”
