Larsen & Toubro Expands Renewable Energy Reach with 3.5 GW of Solar Projects in Middle East

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has announced the acquisition of significant contracts to develop two large-scale solar PV plants in the Middle East with a combined capacity of 3.5 GW. The contracts have been secured with a leading regional developer.

The comprehensive scope of these projects includes grid connections, collection stations and overhead transmission lines. Detailed engineering and initial construction is expected to begin soon.

This development follows L&T’s recent success in securing an order for a solar-storage power plant in India. With these new projects, L&T’s renewable energy portfolio is set to reach a total capacity of 22 GWp, including solar and wind power projects that are already operational or under development.

Mr. T Madhava Das, Whole-Time Director and Senior Executive Vice President (Utilities) at L&T, highlighted the significance of these achievements, “These successive order wins are a testament to our proven engineering and project management capabilities in meeting the requirements in terms of plant efficiency, manpower mobilisation, safety, quality and schedule.
