Logistics firm expands West Midlands presence with acquisition

The Solihull-based logistics company has expanded its presence in the West Midlands with the acquisition of a Rugby-based rival. E-commerce and fulfilment specialist OnLogistics has acquired Exact Logistics for an undisclosed fee.

The company said the acquisition will provide long-term expansion opportunities as well as a broader range of delivery services. OnLogistics works with clients across a variety of sectors, including aviation, healthcare, automotive and fitness.

Exact Logistics was founded in 2009 as a pallet delivery service for businesses in Warwickshire. Since then the company has expanded into last mile distribution for European carriers, mainly German, as well as establishing an in-house customs clearance team.

Following the acquisition, founders Adam and Karen Shuter will remain principals of Exact Logistics, and the company will continue to operate as a separate entity. Existing customers should not expect any changes to their current touchpoint services.

OnLogistics Managing Director, Nick Bennett, said: “I am excited to be leading Exact Logistics on the next stage of its journey. Our portfolios are complementary so we can leverage synergies to support customers’ growth across sectors and geographically across Europe.”

Karen Shuter commented: “We are confident that Exact Logistics will thrive under new management with a promising future. Importantly, OnLogistics is a family business, just like us, and shares the same values, especially when it comes to customer service.”

Exact Logistics is a member of the Pall-Ex Group carrier network and Adam and Karen Shuter will remain shareholders in the network following the acquisition.

Pall-Ex Group UK Managing Director Barry Byers said: “Exact Logistics has been a high performing member of the Pall-Ex network for over a decade and the acquisition by OnLogistics will be a significant boost to the business’ growth and prosperity.”
