HighTec’s AURIX™ TC4x MCAL Evaluation Suite Provides Simplicity to Manage AUTOSAR Complexity

Saarbruecken/Germany, July 8, 2024 – HighTec EDV-Systeme GmbH in cooperation with Infineon Technologies AG announces the release of the AURIX™ TC4x MCAL evaluation package. This comprehensive package simplifies the AUTOSAR-based development process for the new AURIX TC4x family by providing all necessary tools in one package.

The new AURIX TC4x family of multi-core microcontrollers from Infineon is particularly designed for automotive applications with high requirements for performance, safety and security, such as zone and domain controllers and engine management systems. With the new AURIX™ TC4x MCAL evaluation package, HighTec and Infineon now offer a joint solution that enables software engineers to reduce setup times and increase development productivity even for more complex AUTOSAR projects. The evaluation package includes the TC4x BASIC MCAL package with all necessary drivers for hardware abstraction and the EB tresos tool for easy configuration and integration. An essential part of the package is HighTec’s automotive-grade TriCore™ C/C++ compiler based on LLVM: Optimized for the TriCore architecture, HighTec’s ISO 26262 ASIL D compiler provides top performance for safety-critical applications based on TC4x microcontrollers. The Integrated Development Environment (IDE) includes an integrated debugger that further simplifies application coding and testing. Sample projects with introductory documentation and the MCAL graphical interface that complement the AURIX TC4x MCAL evaluation suite.

“The AURIX TC4x MCAL evaluation package will significantly enhance our AURIX ecosystem,” said Thomas Schneid, Senior Director Software, Partnerships and Ecosystem Management at Infineon. “It extends our approach to AURIX MCAL ease of use and reduces setup time for software development engineers. We are pleased to work with our long-time partner HighTec on this, which provides a highly optimized LLVM-based TC4x compiler and excellent technical support, including AUTOSAR and MCAL.”

“With this comprehensive approach, we increase engineers’ productivity in evaluating MCAL and AUTOSAR on AURIX TC4x,” said Mario Cupelli, CTO at HighTec EDV-Systeme. “With our highly optimized C/C++ compiler and Rust, we provide efficient and reliable tools for AURIX, including support for an integrated coprocessor such as the PPU. This is in line with our strategy of offering safe and secure solutions based on innovative open source technologies.”

The AURIX TC4x MCAL evaluation package is available immediately from HighTec. To give developers a quick start, HighTec offers a 3-month evaluation license with the option to extend.
