Amazon releases ‘slim’ update to Alexa gadget with customizable features

AMAZON has launched another Alexa-enabled Echo gadget that aims to give your bed a customisable look.

The Echo Spot has been modernized to feature a color display that focuses on essential functions while also serving as a reliable alarm clock.

This new product will be available as a Prime Day deal this week for a limited time.

Users can choose from a variety of custom-designed clock faces that will perfectly complement the style of their room.

This is the second version of the Echo Spot.

Amazon has done away with the circular screen on the front and replaced half of it with a directional speaker.

The device is designed to sit on a bedside table and has a display with a smoothly changing backlight, which Amazon claims will make it easier to set and view alarms, check the time, weather, and song titles.

Even though alarms are a core Alexa feature, they are among the most popular features, used tens of millions of times a day.

There are four alarm sounds: Aurora, Daybreak, Endeavor, and Flutter.

If you want to sleep in longer, you can snooze the device by tapping Echo Spot.

There are six different colour themes available, including orange, purple, magenta, lime, turquoise and blue, and you can also mix and match colours freely by choosing from a variety of clock faces.

And when it comes to privacy, you’ll find the standard microphone on/off button.

“With customizable clock faces, personalized designs, new alarm sounds, and colorful visual animations, Echo Spot is the ultimate smart alarm clock designed for any nightstand.”

The all-new Echo Spot is available now in Black, Glacier White or Ocean Blue for £79.99.

However, Prime members can buy it for £49.99 during Prime Day, which runs from today until July 17.
