Almost two weeks after releasing the second beta to developers, Apple has finally decided to release the third beta of iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 to all iPhone and iPad models. If you are a developer, you can download and install the latest builds on your compatible devices right now, but you will need to link your Apple ID to your developer account to continue.

As mentioned, developers enrolled in the Apple Developer Program can download the latest versions of iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 beta 3 onto their devices for free right now. If you’re not sure how to do it, the process is pretty straightforward, but it does require you to link your Apple ID to your developer account. Once you do that, the rest of the process is a piece of cake.

The first thing you need to do is go to the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad and navigate to General > Software Update > Beta Updates and Downloads the appropriate iOS 18 or iPadOS 18 beta update for your device. Make sure your device has sufficient battery life and is connected to a secure internet connection to download the beta versions. You can also follow our detailed tutorial.

iOS 18 is a big update, and the new beta 3 will introduce a slew of new features that Apple announced on stage at WWDC last month. While most of the changes will arrive with the release, the company is reserving some for later, including Apple Intelligence features and a new Siri experience. It’s too early to speculate on what’s new in the latest version, so be sure to stick around as we go into more detail about the update.

As for what we do know, iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 include a new Control Center and introduce a ton of AI features to the mix that are quite different from the competition. As for compatibility, iOS 18 is available on all iPhone models that are supported by iOS 17, but the new Apple Intelligence features are only available on iPhone 15 Pro models and iPads or Macs with Apple Silicon, at the very least.

iOS 18 will be released to the general public later this year in September, alongside a new version of the iPhone 16. The iOS 18 public beta is also expected to arrive later this month. We’ll keep you updated on the latest changes and features as developers finish tinkering with the latest version. Let us know what your favorite iOS 18 feature is and whether you’d be willing to upgrade to the iPhone 15 Pro to get Apple Intelligence features.
