UCG Chooses HotWax Commerce as Its Omni-Channel OMS for Shopify POS

HotWax Commerce, a leading provider of Omnichannel Order Management solutions in the Shopify space, is excited to announce a strategic partnership with Unified Commerce Group (UCG). Frank And Oak, a Canadian award-winning sustainable fashion brand, is a pioneering brand in the UCG portfolio that has implemented HotWax Commerce OMS with Shopify POS, strengthening its omnichannel initiatives such as Mobile Checkout, Buy Online Pick Up In Store, Endless Aisle, Ship from Store, and Buy Online Return In Store.

UCG actively curates a portfolio of direct-to-consumer (DTC) brands with a mission to acquire purpose-driven businesses and help them grow. UCG strongly believes that in today’s retail landscape, offering seamless omni-channel experiences is essential to the success of global businesses.

HotWax Commerce OMS, combined with Shopify POS, seamlessly replaced the previous NewStore platform, offering mobile POS and omni-channel order management capabilities. UCG began looking for alternatives to NewStore’s mobile POS, and Shopify POS emerged as a natural competitor given their existing Shopify eCommerce infrastructure. However, UCG encountered limitations with Shopify POS, particularly in terms of advanced in-store inventory management and omni-channel order management capabilities, which were integral to their business. It was during this search that they discovered HotWax Commerce. After realizing that HotWax Commerce was pre-integrated with both Shopify POS and Shopify eCommerce, as well as pre-integrated with Netsuite ERP—the ERP used by Frank And Oak—UCG’s confidence grew. After conducting advanced technical discussions and product demos with our team, UCG quickly made the decision to move to HotWax Commerce and Shopify POS, just a few weeks after their initial inquiry.
