An Atlantic County man has pleaded guilty to possessing four destructive devices, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger announced today.

Federal officials said Robert J. Moser, 32, of Mays Landing, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Edward S. Kiel to a charge of possession of a destructive device.

According to court documents and affidavits, law enforcement officers arrived at Moser’s home on March 17, 2023, to treat him for a drug overdose.

During the operation, officers discovered at least four destructive devices in Moser’s bedroom.

Each of the charges contained an explosive charge with a fuse, and various metal elements were embedded in the charges, including metal screws, nails and dart heads.

Moser confirmed that the devices were usable weapons.

The charge carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000. Sentencing is scheduled for November 13, 2024.
