Derbyshire lettings firm acquired in 58th deal

Lomond, the estate agency and lettings broker, has expanded its operations in the East Midlands with its 58th acquisition.

Derbyshire-based Acquire Sales and Lettings, which operates in Derby, Burton and Chesterfield, is to expand its John Shepherd brand.

Following the acquisition of the property lettings business, Lomond’s John Shepherd brand has expanded to include some 700 properties.

From now on, the company will operate under the John Shepherd brand, with Richard Crathorne becoming its CEO.

Crathorne will be assisted by his leadership team, which includes Chief Operating Officer and Property Management Officer Chris Blick, Chief Leasing Officer Jack Spellman and Chief Sales Officer Katie Ridley.

Lomond’s recent acquisitions include Nottingham-based estate agency Royston and Lund and Derby Lettings, the Centrick rental portfolio and Nottingham-based agency Tassi Sales and Lettings.

John Shepherd chief executive, Richard Crathorne, said: “The East Midlands is a key focus for our expansion of the John Shepherd brand and my leadership team have played a key role in helping us deliver the business’ ambitions to date.

“We are extremely excited to welcome the Acquire Sales and Lettings team to the John Shepherd brand and the wider Lomond family and look forward to continuing to strengthen the brand with buyers, sellers, landlords and occupiers across the East Midlands.”

Lomond CEO Ed Phillips said: “Our latest acquisition of Acquire Properties means we are acquiring another high-quality business in the East Midlands and this will only help to fuel the momentum our John Shepherd brand is building across the region.”
