Stellantis software director leaves

Mamatha Chamarthi, Stellantis’ director of software development, has resigned from her position at the carmaker with immediate effect, a company spokesperson confirmed in an email to Automotive Dive on Monday.

Chamarthi has served as the global head of the automaker’s software business since February 2021. Previously, she served as chief digital officer at auto parts supplier ZF Group from 2016 to 2019, and as chief digital officer at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, now part of Stellantis, from 2019 to 2021.

A Stellantis spokesman said Chamarthi left the company to “pursue other opportunities.”

The automaker has named Cristiani Campos as her successor. Campos will be based in Detroit and will report directly to Stellantis software chief Yves Bonnefont.

“We are pleased to announce the promotion of Cristiani Campos to lead our SW business and take it to the next level as part of Stellantis’ DF2030 strategic plan,” a spokesperson told Automotive Dive in an email. “Cristiani brings an excellent track record of business development in Latin America and Taiwan, coupled with a solid financial background.”

Campos most recently served as CFO of SiliconAuto, according to her LinkedIn profileThe joint venture was formed by Stellantis and contract manufacturer Foxconn to design and manufacture integrated circuits for next-generation software-based vehicle platforms the automaker plans to use in the future. Prior to this role, she served as head of business development for Stellantis South America.

The Stellantis management shakeup began in January when the company announced that Carlos Zarlenga would replace Mark Stewart as its North American chief operating officer. He will succeed him on Feb. 1. The automaker did not provide a reason for Stewart’s departure.

In February, Stellantis updated its North America corporate sales structure to increase its focus on B2B and B2C sales, with the appointment of new executives effective March 1.

In May, Stellantis also announced new leaders for the Dodge and Ram brands, as well as other appointments to its global leadership team. The changes include the appointment of Chrysler CEO Christine Feuell as Ram CEO following the retirement of Timothy Kuniskis.

Stellantis also appointed Luca Napolitano as Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, effective June 1; Olivier Bourges as Chief Customer Officer; and Clara Ingen House as head of the global corporate office and public affairs.
