JKTPO to organise E-commerce Onboarding Drive in Kishtwar, district administration finalising preparations

KISHTWAR, JULY 9: Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organisation (JKTPO) in collaboration with various e-commerce platforms is organising e-commerce adoption drive in Kishtwar district on July 11, 2024.

This initiative specifically targets the One District One Product (ODOP) and District Export Hubs (DEH) programmes.

DIC/ACD Kishtwar Director General Phulail Singh today convened a preparatory meeting under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Dr Devansh Yadav at DC Office Complex Kishtwar.

The meeting was attended by Chief Director Agriculture Kishtwar, Deputy Commissioner Labour Kishtwar, District Director Industries, Chief Director Horticulture, Chief Director Animal Husbandry, District Programme Manager NRLM, Director Saffron Development, Deputy Director Handicrafts and Handlooms and Deputy Director Employment and Career Counselling.

The Chairman informed the meeting that the primary objective of this special drive is to enhance the digital presence and market reach of local artisans, manufacturing units, weavers, farmers, entrepreneurs, self-help groups (SHGs) and small businesses by facilitating their onboarding on leading e-commerce platforms.

All interested officers were instructed to provide details of persons and organisations entitled to apply for assistance, registered or operating within their departments.

The ODOP and DEH initiatives have demonstrated significant potential to promote unique and high-quality products from each region, which in turn stimulates local economies and provides greater market opportunities for artisans, farmers, entrepreneurs and producers.

The campaign will include comprehensive training sessions on e-commerce operations, digital marketing and logistics management.

Participants will receive assistance in registering and setting up online stores on popular e-commerce platforms, support in creating product listings with effective descriptions, photos and prices, as well as tips on strategies for increasing online sales through digital marketing, social media and promotional campaigns.

The success of this implementation campaign depends on the active participation of various stakeholders including vendors, farmers, artisans, SHG members, entrepreneurs, self-employed youth and women entrepreneurs in the district.

Effective dissemination of information through district and sector officers is crucial to ensure wide participation of the target audience.

All concerned officers have been called upon to facilitate the mobilisation of vendors, farmers, artisans, SHG members, entrepreneurs, self-employed youth, women entrepreneurs and small business owners in their respective sectors to maximise the benefits of this initiative at the district level. Encouraging broad participation of relevant stakeholders will be crucial for the success of the onboarding drive.
