A Mays Landing, N.J., man pleads guilty to possession of destructive devices

A Mays Landing man has pleaded guilty to possessing four destructive devices and could now spend several years behind bars.

Robert J. Moser, 32, pleaded guilty to the charges in federal court on Monday.

Authorities say that on March 17, 2023, officers from the Township of Hamilton Police Department went to Moser’s home to treat him for a drug overdose. Upon arrival, officers discovered four destructive devices in his bedroom, all containing explosive powder.

One of the devices contained pieces of metal, another contained a metal nail and a protruding metal hook, a third contained a protruding metal hook, and another contained five metal dart heads.

Moser admitted that all four devices were usable weapons.

Now, when he is sentenced on November 13, he faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

U.S. Attorney Philip Sellinger thanked agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Hamilton Parish Police Department, members of the Atlantic City Police Department Bomb Squad and the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office for their work on this case.
