Madhavi makes her way from IT sector to politics

Nellimarla (Vizianagaram): Lokam Madhavi, a prominent figure in the IT sector, made a remarkable transformation in politics by defeating YSRCP’s B Appala Naidu in the Nellimarla Assembly constituency in Vizianagaram district. Madhavi’s victory is especially significant because she is the only woman legislator from the Jana Sena Party (JSP).

Coming from a corporate background, Madhavi has long been involved in social causes, believing that a portion of her earnings should go to the less fortunate. Over the past few years, she has dedicated herself to serving the people of Nellimarla, consistently addressing the needs of the underprivileged.

Madhavi supports women, youth and the local fishing community. In 2019, she contested from JSP but lost due to lack of public support. Despite this defeat, she did not leave the political field and intensified her social services. Her support to the people during the Covid-19 pandemic has been crucial.

Despite her lack of political backing and traditional caste support, Madhavi managed to garner significant public support. She particularly resonated with the youth, engaging with them directly and promising to improve their careers and futures if elected.

As the head of a successful software company, she pledged to offer IT training and job opportunities to local youth. She vowed to change the face of Nellimarla and bring industries to the area to provide jobs for local youth.

Her political acumen was evident in her ability to change the local political dynamics. She managed to convince all the TDP candidates and get the support of NDA cadres. This helped her secure a majority of 39,849 votes in the last elections, further strengthening her reputation among her party legislators.
