The 7-person management team of Novotel and ibis Styles Melbourne Airport

Accor has announced seven appointments to its new management team Novotel AND ibis Styles Melbourne Airport after a great start as part of the hotel opening team and will be led by general manager David Alexander.

Alexander joins the role after serving on the opening team for the dual-branded Novotel Melbourne and ibis Melbourne Central hotels. He has over 15 years of hotel management experience.

He will be responsible for a 200-strong staff at the new hotel and will introduce a people-focused culture to both hotels, representing the largest hotel investment in Australia in 2024.

Experienced hotel professional and respected sales and marketing leader Narelle Welsh has been appointed as the new Director of Sales and Marketing and recently opened the Dorsett Melbourne.

Charlie Tickler has joined Novotel and ibis Styles Melbourne Airport as Chief Financial Officer at Novotel Melbourne South Wharf.

As Director of Talent and Culture, Sonia Ruiz has recruited and onboarded new employees and will focus on creating a collaborative and community-based work environment for all airport employees. She also previously worked at Novotel Melbourne and ibis Melbourne Central.

New Chief Operating Officer Giovani Sayuti will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of both hotels, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service across all touchpoints.

Gopikrishna Loganathan has also joined the team as Director of Engineering, having worked pre-opening at Novotel Melbourne and ibis Melbourne Central.

Completing the Novotel and ibis Styles Melbourne Airport management team is seasoned commercial manager Ashish Rajput as Chief Revenue Officer, responsible for establishing distribution channels and driving revenue and reservation management for both properties. He was previously Chief Commercial Officer at Sofitel Melbourne On Collins.
