Stock Market Sectors: Stock Market Update: Fertilizer Stocks Fall as Market Falls

NEW DELHI: Fertiliser stocks were among the top gainers at 10:39 am on Wednesday.

Top losers included Madras Fertilizers Ltd. (down 7.68%), Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd. (down 7.10%), National Fertilizers Ltd. (down 7.03%), The Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Ltd. (down 6.95%), Agro Phos India Ltd. (down 6.82%), Deepak Fertilisers & Petrochemicals Corporation Ltd. (down 5.92%), Aries Agro Ltd. (down 5.77%), Zuari Agro Chemicals Ltd. (down 5.51%), Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals Ltd. (down 5.10%) and Southern Petrochemicals Industries Corporation Ltd. (down 5.09%).

The NSE Nifty50 index was down 243.71 points at 24,189.5, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 817.01 points at 79,534.63 around 10:39 am.

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (up 1.69%), Britannia Industries Ltd. (up 1.14%) and Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (up 0.09%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (down 6.81%), Shriram Finance Ltd. (down 2.81%), Hindalco Industries Ltd. (down 2.78%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (down 2.66%), Coal India Ltd. (down 2.5%), Tata Steel Ltd. (down 2.49%), Tata Motors Ltd. (down 2.38%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (down 2.12%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (down 2.04%) and Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (down 1.89%) were trading in the red.
