Chubb Names Paul McNamee Executive Vice President, Chubb Group and President, Overseas General Insurance; Marcos Gunn to Head, Asia Pacific; Federico Spagnoli to Head, Latin America

ZURICH, July 9, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Chubb Limited (NYSE: CB) today announced that it has appointed Paul McNamee as executive vice president of Chubb Group and president of Overseas General Insurance, based in New YorkMcNamee will serve as executive director of Chubb’s general insurance business in 51 countries outside North America.

McNamee, who currently serves as senior vice president of Chubb Group and regional president Asia and PacificHe will report to Evan G. Greenberg, chairman and CEO, and John Keogh, president and chief operating officer. McNamee succeeds Juan Luis Ortega, who has been named president of the company’s North America Insurance operations.

Marcos Gunn, Senior Vice President, Chubb Group and Regional President Latin America will replace McNamee as head of the company Asia and Pacific region. It will move from Miami Down SingaporeFederico Spagnoli, President of Consumer Lines, Overseas General Insurance, will retain his current responsibilities and assume leadership of the company Latin America region to succeed Gunn. Both Gunn and Spagnoli will report to McNamee.

All appointments are effective immediately.

Paul McNamee has nearly 30 years of experience in the insurance industry. He was appointed Senior Vice President of Chubb Group and Regional President, Asia and Pacific in 2016. He served as regional deputy president and executive vice president of commercial property and life insurance, Asia and Pacific from 2013 to 2016. Previously, McNamee was president of the company’s North America Property & Specialty Lines from 2009 to 2013. He joined Chubb (ACE) in 1995. Australia and was appointed Head of the Real Estate and Technical Lines Department Asia and Pacific In 2002, McNamee served as the company’s chief operating officer Hong Kong before sending to London in 2005 as executive vice president and head of the company’s International Property & Technical Lines division. McNamee entered the industry in 1995, joining Cigna Corporation’s international operations in Australiawhich were subsequently taken over by ACE.

Marcos Gunn has over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry. He was appointed Senior Vice President of Chubb Group and Regional President Latin America in 2019. Previously, he served as President, Northern Latin America Regionand Chief Operating Officer of the company Latin America operations. Gunn joined Chubb in 2000 and has held various executive positions, including national president Chile; Regional Vice President A&H, Latin Americaand Regional Vice President of A&H, Asia and PacificEarlier in his career, he served as a commercial underwriter at Chubb in Argentinaand underwriting and management positions at other insurance companies. Gunn has a degree in business administration from Catholic University of Buenos Aires.

Federico Spagnoli has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. He joined Chubb in January 2024 as president of Consumer Lines, Overseas General Insurance. Previously, Spagnoli was CEO of Fully Ecosystem, Prudential Financial’s fintech wellness venture, and before that, regional president, Latin America for Prudential Financial. For almost 13 years at AIG, Spagnoli served as Regional Consumer CEO for EMEA and IndiaRegional consumer lines are moving towards Latin Americaand Regional Vice President for Personal Lines Latin Americaand held managerial positions in the A&H and HR departments Japan AND South Korea. Spagnoli graduated in law from the Universidad del SalvadorMBA in Management and Finance with Washington University of Saint Louisand a Postgraduate Diploma in Strategy and Innovation from the University of Oxford. He also holds a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriting (CPCU) designation.
