Eurofins Scientific announces acquisition of Labormar, expanding its presence in Latin America

Eurofins announced the completion of the acquisition of Labormar. The acquisition will further strengthen Eurofins’ offering in food and feed, cosmetics, pharmacology and environmental research, as well as its presence in Latin America.

The laboratory will be known as Eurofins Labormar in the future and will be the second Eurofins laboratory in Colombia. Based in Barranquilla, Labormar is recognized nationally as a reference laboratory for providing high-quality safety and quality control testing for food and feed products, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, as well as environmental management and customized consulting solutions.

Labormar employs 90 people in 10 locations, including a laboratory and 9 logistics and sampling centers nationwide. It provides support to government agencies, private companies, industries and organizations, ensuring the highest quality standards and delivery times.

The beginnings of the Eurofins network in Latin America date back to 2001, when Eurofins Genescan first established its presence in Brazil, opening an office in São Paulo and shortly thereafter a laboratory. Since then, the Eurofins network of companies has continued to expand on the Latin American continent, with more than 15 laboratories in 5 Latin American countries, currently operating in the segments of clinical diagnostics, food, environment, pharmaceuticals, agroscience and agroscience, as well as offering specialized consulting and auditing services.
